You do not need to do anything! Just remember to NOT retract the foreskin. It will separate on its own. just wash him with water in the bath and don't worry. nature has designed our bodies to be self cleaning.

Jessie, the intact penis requires no extra care. Just wipe what you see. Urine is sterile, it is very unlikely that your son will get an infection. Do not ever retract him or try to clean under his foreskin, that's not necessary and causes more harm than good.

Jessie, one of the most important ways to prevent any infection is good diet. You really don't have to do anything that you wouldn't do for any other child. Just remember never to let anyone else retract the foreskin either, even a doctor, not even a tiny bit.

Just like girls, avoid bubble baths. Otherwise, the intact penis cares for itself. As previously mentioned, absolutely do not retract and make sure ALL your caregivers know this. The foreskin will separate from the glans on its own YEARS from birth. Forced retraction is the cause of almost all "intact" related problems. Wipe it like a finger - only clean what is seen.

We take bubble baths all the time...is it that big a risk for infection for my intact son...and my daughter?
Also I have had the doctor on several occasions do some really good looking at his penis...iv never seen her try to retract it. She asked me if I had retracted it and I told her no... that it is supposed to happen on its own with time...she didn't disagree... just nodded her head at me.

Wow, I was going to send you to this link... http://www.babycenter.com/408_when-can-my-baby-take-a-bubble-bath_1368474.bc
But it talks about most utis happening to uncircumcised boys under 6 months. Ugh! I hate misinformation.
When intact don't retract, only clean what is seen. My 1 year old perfectly whole son hasn't had a single infection!
The inner foreskin mucosa is just like the mouth and vagina. So best not to use soap there. You wouldn't wash out a vagina. The foreskin maintains a balanced pH for health and fast healing. Soaps can wreck the balance which CAN result in irritation. or sores. Bubble bath is the worst. If soap must be used on the inner foreskin, then better to use a pH balanced soap.
The foreskin separation is mediated by the boy's testosterone. Separation can take up to 19 years. Most are separated age 5-10. This process can itch and itching speeds separation along as does masturbation. Speaking of masturbation- masturbation teaches the male how best to please himself and by this process how best to please his partner in intercourse. Circumcision teaches the male to use his hand for friction (not the foreskin). understand that there's no place for his hand in intercourse.
If you find yourself overly concerned about smegma (greek for nature's soap) here's this study:
Cold/Taylor-the presence of smegma preputii is a rare finding; in a prospective examination of 4521 uncircumcised boys, only 0.5% had smegma.
