I'm considering restoring. What's the benefits tho? Is it really worth the effort?

My husband is restoring Josh, and I can honestly say it is worth the effort. Worth every minute. Before he started restoring sex pretty much never felt good, always hurt. And now its SO much better, and he doesn't even have coverage yet. I/he can do a handjob/blowjob without lube.. i can't even tell you how much easier that is for me and him, I'm sure. It will only continue to get better for us as he continues to restore.

The experience is a journey. The "destination" is most often a very satisfying place. But in a few cases a man is not satisfied with the results. Other men simply give up before they get very far along with it. The vast majority are quite happy they did it.
How to know, before you start? Be sure you really want to do it. Be sure you are willing to be seen as an intact man in locker rooms, showers and other places where you may change clothes in front of other men. It usually helps that a man is outraged over what was done to his body without his consent when he was an infant or young child. That man will get a lot of satisfaction out of knowing he is reversing, to the extent possible, what others forced on him when he was a helpless boy.
Have realistic expectations when you start. You may gain a lot of sensual pleasure with a restored foreskin, but you will not regrow the nerve laden ridged band and frenulum; they are gone forever. But there are scattered patches of nerve endings in the mucosa near the glans corona, and once that tissue is pulled up over the glans those nerves will begin to potentiate what's left on the glans (contrary to popular wisdom of circumcision advocates the glans is not the super sensitive home of all/most nerve tissue in the penis. And for a circumcised man it often provides little sensitivity at all because it gets a harder surface from constant exposure. But what little nerves are left can once again be activated by restoring. This gives more of the type of control over timing an intact man has, gives a series of "mini-orgasms" all through the sex act, rather than only the "big one"(prostate based orgasm accompanying ejaculation), which is more intense for most restored men. Some have experienced "full body" orgasm for the first time ever (few cut men experience this, while it is quite common among intact men). Almost all restored men end up with a shiny, healthily colored glans and mucosa (as opposed to the dull, lifeless gray that eventually takes over a cut penis after 2-20 years). It is impossible to predict which benefits any particular man will gain; it's likely that a positive outlook and realistic expectations will lead to greater gains. Try this idea: Will you be satisfied if you gain the cosmetic appearance of being an intact man? If so, all the rest might be seen as bonus benefits, great if the result, okay if they don't. Please feel free to ask any questions you can think of. I'll try to think of some practical advice for getting started. For now, maybe get the book _Joy of Uncircumcising_, by Jim Bigelow, PhD, from www.norm.org. Great history of circumcision, basic primer on restoring can be updated with Internet research. Best of luck to you with your adventure, should you undertake it.
I had tight erections. After restoring my foreskin for a while I now have full flaccid coverage with some overhang. Gone are my tight erections. Not only did I regain the sensitivity I lost by having my glans and inner foreskin remnant exposed, I also got the gliding action, which is something I never knew existed before I started restoring.
For me, restoring my foreskin has been worth every tug.
It's totally worth it, and not even all that difficult. Doing brief spurts of manual tugging throughout the day has become second nature to me- it really feels almost effortless at this point.

I found that the best time for tugging is first thing in the morning before I get out of bed, last thing at night though I have to remember not to moisturise my hands first. I do about 10-15 minute a time.

I'm not actively restoring at the moment because I have too much going on in my life, but I do try to keep my glans covered most of the time using an o-ring. Assuming you have enough skin while flaccid to pull forward, I would suggest going this route for a couple weeks. Just pull the skin over, put the o-ring on. It only takes a couple seconds, and can come off in almost no time if you need to pee in public or some other situation where you'd feel uncomfortable. The changes in your glans should become noticeable within the two week time frame and let you know if you think it's worth continuing.
My wife actually asked me once, after I'd kept it covered for several weeks, why my glans was purplish and shiny. It was nice to say, "Because that's how it's supposed to be"
